FOR MIKE HENNESSY, THE GREATEST THING THAT CAN COME FROM TECHNOLOGY IS MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT. BY CONSISTENTLY PUSHING HIMSELF & OTHERS, HE’S DOING JUST THAT.
For Mike, boring is deadly, and failure is positive — because it means he’s pushing the envelope, trying new things, and learning.
Prior to joining Innovative, Mike lent his talents to an impressive resume of companies, including Wegmans, Bausch & Lomb, Xerox, Thomson Reuters, and others. In the midst of that, he also enjoyed runs with two start ups.
It’s the start up mentality — where the business is the product and learning is constant — that makes Mike love what he does at Innovative. What makes him even happier is seeing satisfied customers enjoying the business benefits from their investment in technology with Innovative.
With many different experiences throughout many different industries, Mike had the benefit of seeing things done in various ways, and knows one thing more than anything else: Getting customer input early and often is key. That customer-centric mentality has brought Application Services enormous growth, and tremendous pride for Mike and his team.
No stranger to change, Mike has watched the industry and technology change for over three decades and believes in being on the front end of it, where Innovative is. He enjoys the never-ending challenge of wow-ing a more technically savvy culture, and strives every day to make a positive difference in both the lives of his customers and his team members.
When Mike is looking to relieve some stress he turns to the great outdoors. It’s skiing in winter, mostly at Bristol Mountain where Mike is a long-time season pass holder, also at his other favorite New York State ski resort, Gore Mountain, as well as numerous Vermont ski resorts. In spring, and fall Mike relaxes by heading out in his kayak to variety of NY waterways, including the Finger Lakes and Adirondack regions.
Married for nearly 30 years with four children, Mike’s happiest when he’s pushing himself — whether on his skis or in a kayak, or in business, where he consistently pushes others, as well. With each new experience inevitably comes new failures, but among the falls and the learning curves, the positive impact he’s striving for, keeps on growing.
